Sarah Garrick

Sarah Garrick is Senior Counsel at Tyson & Mendes’ San Diego office. Her practice includes the defense of entity defendants where sexual torts are alleged, including sexual assault and child sexual abuse, as well as catastrophic personal injury defense.

Ms. Garrick worked at the San Diego County Public Defender’s office before she moved into private practice. She has litigated defense cases at the state and federal levels and has experience litigating across the state, including in the Northern and Southern Districts of California. Ms. Garrick is tenacious in advocating for clients and is well-known for achieving outstanding resolutions in the toughest of cases, including obtaining a commutation of sentence for a client serving life without parole for murder. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Northern and Southern Districts of California, and the state of California.

Ms. Garrick earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law while concurrently completing her M.S.W. at San Diego State University. She achieved the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Practice and made the Dean’s List. In addition, Ms. Garrick. earned her LL.M. in Federal Trial Advocacy from California Western School of Law. She obtained her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at York University.

Though she left a career in aviation behind years ago, Ms. Garrick still loves to travel the world whenever possible. She prides herself on doing good in and out of the courtroom and has volunteered with The California Innocence Project, Ronald McDonald House, The Hunger Project, and various organizations helping Military Veterans. She serves as a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, Board of Directors, and she is an active member of her synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel, San Diego.
