Matthew Junk

Matthew Junk is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ Philadelphia office. His practice focuses on defending complex personal injury cases involving products liability, premises liability, and construction accidents. Mr. Junk also represents non-profit and for-profit social and human services organizations and institutions in defense of allegations of physical and sexual torts, including child abuse and neglect claims.

Mr. Junk has extensive litigation experience defending individuals and businesses in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Utilizing tactical litigation and arguments, Mr. Junk has successfully defended clients from liability in many catastrophic claims, including obtaining the dismissal of wrongful death claims against a mental health provider and obtaining a judgment notwithstanding the verdict after the trial of wrongful death claims against a non-profit group home.

Mr. Junk has been nominated as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2019 to 2023. He received his law degree in 2000 from the George Washington University Law School, where he received first-year honors in trial advocacy and legal research and writing courses. During law school, he was a legal intern for the Honorable Russell F. Canan of the Washington, D.C., Superior Court and a law clerk at the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Alexandria, Virginia. Mr. Junk graduated cum laude from Bucknell University in 1995 with a double major in political science and psychology and a minor in American literature.

Mr. Junk lives with his family in Montgomery County, PA, where he enjoys cycling throughout the area.
