Matthew Higginson

Matthew Higginson is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ San Diego office. His practice focuses on personal injury defense, employment practices litigation defense, the defense of entity defendants where sexual torts are alleged, including sexual assault and child sexual abuse, and medical malpractice defense.

Mr. Higginson has successfully defended and resolved hundreds of matters for his clients. He has extensive civil litigation experience as an attorney, including representing businesses and individuals in courts throughout California. Mr. Higginson’s experience ranges from defense and claims involving areas of personal injury, employment disputes, business partnerships, and contractual disputes. He has successfully litigated, resolved, and argued motions throughout California in state and federal court. Mr. Higginson has previously served as a defense litigator for large national law firms, as well as working in-house for a software company and a large insurance company in southern California.
Mr. Higginson obtained his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where he graduated cum laude. He obtained his B.S. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

In his free time, Mr. Higginson enjoys reading, golf, Padres baseball, and watching his 3 kids play softball and baseball.
