Herrittaccei Shabazz-Starr is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ Atlanta office. Her practice focuses primarily on complex civil litigation, insurance defense, transportation litigation, construction litigation and personal injury including catastrophic injury.

Mrs. Shabazz-Starr brings more than 10 years of litigation and trial experience to the firm. She has represented claims and suits for over 10 different major insurance companies regarding insurance coverage disputes, uninsured motorist/under-insured motorist coverage, insurance compliance, and personal injury claims and lawsuits. Prior working in insurance defense, Mrs. Shabazz-Starr owned and managed her own practice in personal injury, family law, criminal law and served as of-counsel to other firms on special matters. She has successfully drafted and argued many motions for summary judgments and motions to dismiss, saving several clients thousands in litigation costs. Mrs. Shabazz-Starr is a zealous advocate for her clients and excellent negotiator. She has attained defense verdicts saving clients thousands of dollars. Mrs. Shabazz-Starr has been a member of the American Bar Association, Election Protection for Civil Rights Under Law, and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. She was recognized at Florida A&M University College of Law for Outstanding Public Service Commitment and her volunteer efforts at the Atlanta Lawyer Volunteer Foundation. Mrs. Shabazz-Starr is a member of the Georgia Bar, as well as United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia.

Mrs. Shabazz-Starr obtained her J.D. from Florida A&M University College of Law. She obtained her B.S. in Health and Human Sciences from Georgia State University.

In her spare time, she enjoys church activities and fellowship and spending time with family, including her Husky and cat. She also enjoys assisting underserved communities by providing food for the homeless and pro-bono assistance to those in need.
