Matthew T. Rhodes
Matthew T. Rhodes is an Associate in Tyson & Mendes’ Jacksonville office. His practice focuses on personal injury, medical malpractice, construction defect, and specializing in multi-party complex litigation.
Mr. Rhodes takes a trial-centric approach to litigation strategy and works to position cases for efficient and favorable resolution through motion practice, targeted discovery, and focused case evaluation. He has achieved favorable results for clients through resolution-focused advocacy and disciplined case strategy. Mr. Rhodes has led multi-day corporate representative depositions. He has successfully resolved high-volume matters, including settling 25 cases in a single mediation. Mr. Rhodes has also uncovered key liability and damages evidence that materially shifted litigation posture, including identifying inconsistencies in a plaintiff’s account that led to the withdrawal of plaintiff’s counsel. He has experience coordinating multi-party resolution efforts and is skilled at breaking settlement impasses through creative deal structuring and effective negotiation.
Mr. Rhodes obtained his J.D. at Florida Coastal School of Law, during which he served as Editor-in-Chief of Law Review, received first place at the Billings, Exum & Frye National Moot Court Competition, and clerked for the Honorable Waddell Wallace.
Outside of work, Mr. Rhodes enjoys a myriad of crafts and home renovation projects. He also enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife and dogs.
