Andre Egle
Andre Egle is Senior Counsel in the Seattle office of Tyson & Mendes, where he maintains a diverse and sophisticated civil defense litigation practice. He represents businesses, institutions, and professionals in high-stakes matters throughout Washington state and federal courts.
Mr. Egle’s practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury defense, employment practices liability defense, complex commercial litigation, professional liability, construction defect litigation, and premises liability defense, including claims involving construction defect and breach of construction contracts.
With more than 20 years of litigation experience, Mr. Egle brings a strategic, trial-tested approach to defending complex civil matters. Prior to joining Tyson & Mendes, he practiced at one of the nation’s pre-eminent litigation firms and several highly regarded Pacific Northwest law firms known for outstanding defense results.
Mr. Egle played a key role in securing a defense verdict in a racial discrimination and hostile work environment case involving one of the highest-ranked independent schools in the Greater Seattle area. At trial, he demonstrated that the plaintiff’s non-renewal resulted from documented performance issues—not unlawful discrimination—persuading the jury to return a verdict for the defense.
Mr. Egle is admitted to practice in Washington state and before Washington appellate courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Egle earned his Juris Doctor with high honors and membership in the Order of the Coif from the University of Washington School of Law. While in law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the Washington Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Honor Board.
A native of the Republic of Latvia, Mr. Egle obtained his L.L.B. from the University of Latvia and practiced law internationally before relocating to the United States. He also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John C. Coughenour of the U.S. District Court, gaining invaluable insight into federal trial and motion practice.
Mr. Egle was selected as a Washington Rising Star (2010) and is a published author on insurance and construction-related topics. His recent articles include:
- Navigating Insurance Law to Fund Building Repairs by Washington’s Homeowners’ Associations (NWSidebar, October 2025)
- Homeowners Associations Must Prepare for Cold Season Maintenance and Repairs in Western Washington(Construction Defect Journal, December 2025)
Outside of practice, Mr. Egle enjoys tennis and golf (while working to lower his handicap), spending time with his teenage son, and volunteering as a judge for local law school mock trial competitions.
