Corey Lopez

Corey Lopez is an Associate at Tyson & Mendes’ Northern California office, specializing in construction defect and personal injury litigation. With a background in general construction and plumbing, Mr. Lopez’s hands-on experience as a contractor provides him with a unique understanding of the challenges faced by contractors. This connection drives his passion for defending contractors in construction defect cases.

Mr. Lopez has legal experience on both the plaintiff and defense sides of personal injury and plaintiff’s side of workers’ compensation. Notably, he successfully appealed dozens of denials of high-cost medical surgeries for workers’ compensation clients.

Mr. Lopez obtained his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2024. During law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Competition Team and later served as Development Director on the Moot Court Board. He also authored a published article for the Intellectual Property Journal and was an active board member of the Latinx Law Students Association for three years. His practical training includes the Intensive Advocacy Program led by Doris Cheng, esq. and Elinor Leary, esq. and Civil Trial Practice with Bob Arns, esq. and Thomas Brandi, esq. Mr. Lopez earned his B.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

In his free time, Mr. Lopez enjoys watching basketball, football, and baseball. Mr. Lopez enjoys taking photographs of landscapes and animals, as well as bird watching. On the weekends, you can find Mr. Lopez spending time on the golf course.
