Kara Pape

Kara Pape is a Partner in Tyson & Mendes’ Los Angeles office and is a leader of the Complex Trial Team.  Her practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury defense; general liability defense; commercial vehicle litigation; and the defense of public entities where sexual torts are alleged, including child sexual assault and harassment.

Ms. Pape has extensive trial experience throughout California with 17 trials, 15 as first chair. She has been retained as trial counsel within months of trial. Ms. Pape has been able to critically evaluate and reach favorable settlements in cases involving burns, claims of traumatic brain injury, wrongful death, and severe orthopedic injuries. She has obtained five defense verdicts including a defense verdict in a trucking case arising out of an incident in which there were seven fatalities.

Ms. Pape received her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1987.  She received her B.A. from Loyola Marymount in 1984, and graduated magna cum laude.  She is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, a national honor society.

In her free time, Ms. Pape enjoys spending time with her husband and children.  She enjoys traveling, reading, and attending sports events.
