The Diversity
& Inclusion Committee
This committee is responsible for establishing and fostering a culture of inclusion throughout the firm. It is accountable to firm management for providing proactive recommendations on how to achieve our goals and implement solutions. The committee serves as a resource for employees with challenges related to diversity and inclusion, providing support, resources and solutions. Houston Managing Partner Jennifer Akre chairs our Diversity & Inclusion committee.
Tyson & Mendes is a leader in the promotion of women in the law. We are proud to have been named No. 1 “Ceiling Smasher” in Law360’s 2022 Glass Ceiling Report, noted for the highest percentage of female equity partners among mid-sized law firms. But our work does not stop at our equity partnership or with an award. We actively seek ways to support Tyson & Mendes women at all levels of our firm professionally and personally. Through our Women’s Initiative, we promote growth and facilitate business development for our attorneys and clients, providing a forum to address women’s challenges and promote success for women in the insurance and legal industries. San Diego Partner Rachel Donnelly chairs our Women’s Initiative.
