HOUSTON (April 1, 2024) — Leading insurance and civil litigation defense firm Tyson & Mendes LLP announced today that Daniel Erwin has joined the firm as a Partner in its Houston office. Erwin is a skilled civil litigator with deep experience handling complex, high-exposure and catastrophic loss cases.

Erwin has spent the bulk of his career representing Fortune 500 clients across Texas with an emphasis on cases involving catastrophic personal injury litigation and transportation matters. His practice includes complex litigation, commercial litigation, business torts, construction defects, professional liability, premises liability, and products liability.

Erwin joins Tyson & Mendes from Hartline Barger, where he was a Partner. While there, he gained significant trial experience throughout Texas and Arkansas, including a coming-and-going-rule case involving a fatality where his team secured a summary judgment upheld by the Twelfth Court of Appeals.

Irwin is admitted to practice in the state of Texas, in all four U.S. District Courts in Texas and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and its Trucking Law Committee, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, and the Trucking Industry Defense Association.

Erwin obtained his J.D. from South Texas College of Law Houston and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Tyler.
