LOS ANGELES (April 22, 2024) – Nationwide insurance and civil litigation defense firm Tyson & Mendes LLP has expanded its partnership with the addition of Mark L. Kiefer in its Los Angeles office. He brings nearly 40 years of experience representing hospitals, medical professionals, skilled nursing facilities, detox centers, correctional facilities, home health care aides, and medical first responders.

Kiefer is particularly known for litigating and obtaining a dismissal in the landmark malicious prosecution case Wilson v. Parker, Cover & Chidester (2002) 28 Cal. 4^th 811. The Court’s opinion in Wilson directly held that fraud or perjury are the only exceptions to the interim adverse judgment rule.

Kiefer is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Southern California Association for Healthcare Risk Management.

He holds a J.D. from the University of Santa Clara School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.
