We formalized the Tyson & Mendes Women’s Initiative to promote growth and facilitate business development for both our attorneys and clients through networking and social information sharing opportunities.
We are honored to host unique events with engaging, meaningful programs addressing women’s issues in the insurance and legal industries. These events provide a forum for our clients and attorneys to explore networking, mentoring, and business development opportunities. Our Women’s Initiative events have forged lasting, meaningful relationships both inside and outside the firm.
About 50 percent of Tyson & Mendes’ 140-plus attorneys are women, greatly outpacing the 35 percent national average for women in the legal profession. In addition, about 80 percent of Tyson & Mendes’ support staff are female, resulting in about 64 percent of our overall employees being female.

– Tyson & Mendes LLP has been named a No. 1 “Ceiling Smasher” in Law360
’s 2020 Glass Ceiling Report, which annually analyzes and ranks law firms with the highest percentages of female attorneys and equity partners in the nation. Tyson & Mendes was named No. 1 in the “101-250 attorneys” category for female equity partnership, as 50% of Tyson & Mendes’ equity partners are women.
Recent studies show that female Supreme Court Justices are significantly interrupted more than their male counterparts. Indeed, even in the time of a global pandemic, women’s issues remain at the forefront, as evidenced in the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent telephonic hearings.
We all know society generally favors men in government, politics, the legal field, trying to get a fair deal on car repairs, and generally anything else other than skipping the line at a nightclub on a Saturday night or becoming an Instagram celebrity. You may have heard of the “grit and growth” concept. In a very brief and simplified nutshell, “grit and growth” refers to common traits of successful people: “grit,” or resilience, and “growth,” or the mindset that people are not simply born successful but rather have the capability to learn and master any given skill through practice and commitment.
Jessica Rogin is the Vice President of Specialty Claims, US Casualty for Liberty Mutual Group and the winner of Tyson & Mendes’ first Professional Mentorship Award in honor of her efforts to close the gender gap and promote the growth of female claims professionals. Jessica is responsible for the leadership and management of the claims operations that support Liberty’s National Insurance Specialty’s verticals, including Construction, Energy, Public Entity, Healthcare, Programs and Unsupported Excess.
