We formalized the Tyson & Mendes Women’s Initiative to promote growth and facilitate business development for both our attorneys and clients through networking and social information sharing opportunities.
We are honored to host unique events with engaging, meaningful programs addressing women’s issues in the insurance and legal industries. These events provide a forum for our clients and attorneys to explore networking, mentoring, and business development opportunities. Our Women’s Initiative events have forged lasting, meaningful relationships both inside and outside the firm.
About 50 percent of Tyson & Mendes’ 140-plus attorneys are women, greatly outpacing the 35 percent national average for women in the legal profession. In addition, about 80 percent of Tyson & Mendes’ support staff are female, resulting in about 64 percent of our overall employees being female.

As the legal profession has evolved, women’s roles in the legal system have grown significantly. Many inspiring women have gone to law school and successfully cemented their place in various careers throughout the legal field.
“The future is female.” We hear this phrase often these days. Women are attending law school at high rates and we finally have a female vice-president. At Tyson & Mendes, we have exceptional female partners, women in various leadership roles (attorney and non-attorney), and the number of female attorneys we have practicing law at our firm is higher than the national average. But what about those women who have been practicing law and litigating for more than 20 or 30 years? The women who came before us - what are their stories? Here at Tyson & Mendes, we have many women who fit this bill. Our spotlight is on one such woman—a “trailblazer,” as one of her partners recently called her. This woman is Lynn Allen, the Managing and Equity Partner of Tyson & Mendes’ Arizona office.

’s 2020 Glass Ceiling Report, which annually analyzes and ranks law firms with the highest percentages of female attorneys and equity partners in the nation. Tyson & Mendes was named No. 1 in the “101-250 attorneys” category for female equity partnership, as 50% of Tyson & Mendes’ equity partners are women.
Jessica Rogin is the Vice President of Specialty Claims, US Casualty for Liberty Mutual Group and the winner of Tyson & Mendes’ first Professional Mentorship Award in honor of her efforts to close the gender gap and promote the growth of female claims professionals. Jessica is responsible for the leadership and management of the claims operations that support Liberty’s National Insurance Specialty’s verticals, including Construction, Energy, Public Entity, Healthcare, Programs and Unsupported Excess.
