Amaia Sanz de Acedo

Amaia Sanz de Acedo is an Associate at Tyson & Mendes’ Ft. Lauderdale office. Her practice focuses on civil litigation, automotive, and premises liability.

Prior to joining Tyson & Mendes, Ms. Sanz de Acedo began her legal career as a law clerk with a large national firm. After passing the Bar, she transitioned into a role as a practicing attorney at the same firm. During her time at that firm, Ms. Sanz de Acedo gained extensive experience defending personal injury claims involving traumatic brain injury. Ms. Sanz de Acedo has also tried several complex cases involving catastrophic loss, surgical procedures, and traumatic brain injury. She is admitted to practice law in Florida.

Ms. Sanz de Acedo obtained her J.D. from Florida International University, where she graduated cum laude and was on the Dean’s List for three straight years. During her time at Florida International University, Ms. Sanz de Acedo served as the Executive Business Editor of the FIU Law Review. She was also on FIU’s Moot Court Team. While on the FIU Moot Court Team, she competed in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition where she advanced to the championship round and earned the opportunity to represent the United States in the international rounds of the Competition. Ms. Sanz de Acedo obtained her B.A. in English from Florida State University.

In her free time, Ms. Sanz de Acedo enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her basset hound. She also enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and serving her community.
