Senior Counsel

Mr. Zuetel is Senior Counsel at Tyson & Mendes’ Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury defense, general civil litigation, and medical malpractice defense.

Mr. Zuetel has extensive litigation experience, including representing individuals and businesses in state and federal courts and in binding arbitrations throughout California and Nevada. Although Mr. Zuetel has tried in excess of 20 jury trials, his forte is binding (contractual) arbitration.  Mr. Zuetel has tried over 150 binding arbitrations and served in an equal number as an arbitrator. He also co-authored Sections 1281.6 and 1281.9 of the California Code of Civil Procedure and has testified as an expert before the California and Nevada State Legislatures. Mr. Zuetel has also published extensively and currently serves as an adjunct professor of law at Trinity University.

Mr. Zuetel obtained his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1978, where he served as Lead Articles Editor on the San Diego Law Review and graduated in the top 15% of his class. Mr. Zuetel obtained his B.A. from San Diego State University in 1974, where he was named to Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi and graduated with high honors.

In his free time, Mr. Zuetel enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and numerous grandchildren. He also enjoys reading, traveling, and leisure sports.
