Jessica J. Slusser

Jessica J. Slusser is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ San Diego and Los Angeles offices.  She handles a wide range of cases, including general liability and commercial and insurance litigation, catastrophic personal injury defense, employment practices litigation defense, the defense of entity defendants where sexual torts are alleged, and medical malpractice defense.

Prior to joining Tyson & Mendes, Ms. Slusser was Counsel at an Am Law 200 firm, where she represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters including health care, tort, breach of contract, fraud, false advertising, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, trademark, copyright, patent, and RICO claims. Her extensive federal and state court experience includes defeating a tax preparation company in a bench trial against a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction relating to a Super Bowl advertising campaign,  successfully representing defendant and cross-complainant in a bench trial seeking $60 million in damages for an earn out dispute alleging breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and bad faith, and obtaining a favorable jury verdict for defendant in a copyright infringement action involving photographs of Marilyn Monroe used in a celebrity memorabilia auction. Ms. Slusser volunteers as a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court, is a member of the Southwestern Law School Inn of Court and serves on the School Board for Circle of Love Preschool in Manhattan Beach.

Ms. Slusser obtained her J.D. from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles in 2001, where she served on the Student Bar Association Executive Board. She obtained her B.A. from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 1998, where she played on the women’s hockey team.

In her free time, Ms. Slusser enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling, playing tennis, and attending horse shows.
