Faizan Habeeb

Faizan Habeeb is an Associate at Tyson & Mendes’ New York office, where his practice focuses on litigating high-exposure, catastrophic casualty cases, including claims arising from New York State Labor Law, strict products liability, general negligence and premises liability. Mr. Habeeb is often retained by excess and umbrella insurers as monitoring counsel in complex casualty matters to assist primary defense counsel with the development of legal strategy, risk management, and limiting overall exposure.

Mr. Habeeb devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing commercial general liability, excess/umbrella liability, and property insurers in litigation involving coverage and bad faith litigation in first and third-party claims in a variety of practice areas including construction, property damage, and serious personal injury. Mr. Habeeb also advises insurers on complex liability and coverage matters, including evaluation of risk, development of risk mitigation strategies, interpretation of commercial general liability and excess/umbrella policies, availability and priority of coverage, additional insured status, denials/disclaimers of coverage, contractual indemnification and avoiding/limiting extracontractual exposure.

Before joining Tyson & Mendes, Mr. Habeeb worked at a large law firm in New York. New York Metro Super Lawyers has recognized him as a “Rising Star” since 2020, a significant accomplishment given Super Lawyers selects only 2.5% or fewer attorneys in New York to make the “Rising Star” list.

Mr. Habeeb earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his B.A. from the University at Buffalo, where he studied Political Science. He was a member of his law school’s mock trial team. During law school, Mr. Habeeb also served as an extern in the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office and a law clerk in a Cleveland firm. He is admitted to practice law in New York and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association.
