Marvin Amaya

Marvin Amaya is Senior Counsel at Tyson & Mendes’ Orange County office. His practice focuses on personal injury and general liability.

Before joining Tyson & Mendes, Mr. Amaya practiced social security disability law for over 10 years, where he represented claimants in over two thousand hearings throughout the United States. He has drafted successful motions and appellate briefs for legally complex and sensitive disability cases.

Mr. Amaya obtained his J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. During law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review. Mr. Amaya interned at the Indiana Attorney General’s office and served as judicial intern at the Marion County Superior Court. Mr. Amaya graduated with pro bono recognition due to the many hours of public service he completed. Prior to law school, Mr. Amaya obtained his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

In his free time, Mr. Amaya likes to spend time with his wife and take his two young children to UCLA basketball and football games. He also enjoys traveling, astronomy and following Los Angeles pro sports teams.
