Leah Shover

Leah Shover is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ New Mexico office. Her practice focuses on medical malpractice defense and catastrophic personal injury defense.

Ms. Shover has extensive litigation experience in New Mexico. She began her career in 2009 as a prosecutor with the Second Judicial District Attorney’s Office where she gained valuable trial experience in domestic violence and homicide cases. Now she represents individuals and businesses in state and federal courts. Prior to working at Tyson & Mendes, Ms. Shover worked for local and national law firms, including an AmLaw 100 firm, handling defense of medical malpractice cases, employment law, construction defect, and creditor’s rights claims. Ms. Shover takes great pride in defending medical professionals and hospitals because her father is a pediatric gastroenterologist and her brother is a surgeon.  Ms. Shover handles all aspects of litigation including discovery, motions practice, mediation, and trials. Ms. Shover’s successes include summary judgments granted, motions to dismiss granted, and a recent complete defense jury verdict which saved her client millions of dollars.

Ms. Shover obtained her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2008, where she served as a Senior Articles Editor for the Human Rights Quarterly. She obtained her B.J. from the University of Missouri in 2005.

In her spare time, Ms. Shover enjoys spending time with her family and French Bulldogs. She also enjoys attending concerts, cooking, and playing pickleball.
