Claims professionals should be a part of every strategic discussion because they have early—and often the best—access to every file from the moment it crosses their desk. Many in the defense industry perceive strategy as a part of the defense attorney’s responsibility, but that limitation can be detrimental when handling claims with the potential to result in Nuclear Verdicts®. In this session, claims professionals will learn about the Core Four, derived from The Apex℠, a groundbreaking defense strategy developed to combat the surge of outsized and unjust verdicts by addressing their number one cause: anger. While the Core Four can be implemented at trial, they are most effective when implemented early in the life of a file. Participants will learn how these principles strengthen claim investigation, liability assessment, valuation, reserve and settlement discussions, documentation, and collaboration with defense counsel.
