LOS ANGELES (October 11, 2019) – Leading civil defense firm Tyson & Mendes LLP announced today it has added Kara Pape as a partner in its Los Angeles office.
Pape’s practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury defense; general liability defense; commercial vehicle litigation; and the defense of public entities where sexual torts are alleged, including child sexual assault and harassment.
Pape, who has extensive trial experience throughout California, joins Tyson & Mendes from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP in Los Angeles. She served as a partner and was a member of the firm’s general liability practice.

Throughout her career, Pape has successfully resolved a number of cases involving burns, claims of traumatic brain injury, wrongful death, and severe orthopedic injuries. She also secured a defense verdict in a trucking case arising out of an incident in which there were seven fatalities.
Pape received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in 1987. She received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in 1984 and graduated magna cum laude.
