SAN DIEGO (May 23, 2024) – Committed to employees’ professional development and providing a clear path to partnership, nationwide civil litigation and insurance defense firm Tyson & Mendes LLP announced seven promotions from senior counsel to partner today for attorneys Stephanie Drenski, Ashley Paige Fetyko, Molly Gilardi, Maria Kupillas, Mitchell Malachowski, Robert Olson and Brian Woolfall.

Stephanie Drenski (Northern California) focuses her practice on general liability, personal injury defense, premises liability, product liability, and professional liability. She has prepared and prevailed on multiple dispositive motions in claims involving negligence and premise liability. Her experience also includes workers’ compensation defense and representing plaintiffs in complex tort litigation. Drenski earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco.

Ashley Paige Fetyko (Denver) also serves as the firm’s Head of Communications, serving all offices across the firm. Her work focuses on external and internal communications, client relations, and education, for which she leads the creation and delivery of educational content for national audiences. She also heads the development and oversight of marketing content for the firm. As an attorney, she has taken more than 90 cases to trial, including as a Deputy District Attorney for the State of Colorado. She also serves as faculty for the Nuclear Verdicts® Defense Institute. Fetyko earned her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School.

Molly Gilardi (Northern California) is an experienced litigator with the firm’s Law & Motion practice. She has successfully defended individuals and businesses throughout the state of California, favorably resolving cases in matters involving complex personal injury, insurance coverage and construction defect. Gilardi earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Maria Kupillas (Scottsdale) has extensive litigation experience, covering a broad range of insurance defense cases. Her practice includes construction defect, personal injury, defending homeowners’ associations, representing parties before the EEOC and Attorney General in discrimination matters, and representing insurance companies in subrogation cases. Kupillas received her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University National Law Center.

Mitchell Malachowski (San Diego) has comprehensive litigation experience in federal and state courts and engages in full-spectrum civil litigation defense. His trial and appellate practice specializes in complex litigation, including federal multidistrict litigation, class actions, mass torts and products liability. Malachowski received his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Robert Olson (Orange County) has specialized experience handling all types of personal injury lawsuits – from traumatic brain injuries to trip and falls. He has litigation experience in complex multi-party matters, landlord/tenant cases, toxic torts, professional liability, aviation and maritime matters and courtroom experience in both state and federal courts. Olson earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law.

 

Brian Woolfall (San Diego) is a seasoned litigator whose practice focuses on litigating complex construction defect and property damage claims on behalf of developers, general contractors, and subcontractors along with the firm’s construction defect litigation team. He has also litigated cases involving personal injury, products liability, unfair business practices and antitrust violations. Woolfall received his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law.
