SAN DIEGO (August 5, 2019) – Tyson & Mendes LLP has expanded to Orange County with a new office that will be led by new Managing Partner Richard Somes. The location will allow the leading insurance defense firm to increase its complex litigation work in the region for a wide array of clients.

Somes, who will serve as the Managing Partner of the Tyson & Mendes Orange County office, has extensive litigation experience representing individuals and businesses in state and federal courts throughout California. His practice focuses on general liability, premises liability, personal injury, surety law, construction, medical malpractice, toxic and mass torts, and employment law.

Somes joins Tyson & Mendes after 12 years working at Koeller, Nebeker, Carlson, Haluck LLP in Irvine.

Somes is a member of the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association, the Orange County Bar Association, Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and the Mater Dei Alumni Association. Prior to his legal career, he worked for the Marriott Corporation in their loss prevention department.

Orange County is the latest major region in California to be serviced by Tyson & Mendes, which also has offices in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Washington. The growing firm employs more than 140 attorneys and plans to add at least 90 lawyers this year.
