Seattle, Washington. (Oct. 31, 2023) — National insurance and civil litigation defense firm Tyson & Mendes LLP is pleased to announce the arrival of Gordon Klug, who joins the firm as a Managing Partner in the Seattle office, joining existing Seattle Managing Partner Sitar Bhatt in the role. In his more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Klug has first chaired more than 55 trials to verdict. He brings the knowledge of an in-house attorney and the depth of a seasoned litigator.

Mr. Klug joins Tyson & Mendes from insurance litigation firm Smith Freed Eberhard where he was a partner handling complex personal injury, construction defect, and product liability lawsuits. He was also a trial attorney for three major insurance companies – SAFECO, Travelers and The Hartford – gaining a critical in-house perspective which gives him an edge in working with clients and understanding their specific challenges. He launched his career as a trial attorney for Safeco Insurance and now concentrates his practice on multiple areas of insurance defense, including commercial liability, traumatic brain injury, products liability, trucking and transportation, jobsite injury, wrongful death and more.

“Gordon brings an extensive track record of delivering excellent results for clients in high-stakes disputes and a reputation of understanding the clients’ needs, gained through his in-house and private practice experience,” said Tyson & Mendes’ Strategic Managing Partner Robert Tyson. “His addition to our Washington team reflects Tyson & Mendes’ focus on meeting client needs in the Pacific Northwest and underscores the firm’s commitment to providing our clients with exceptional trial skills and experience.”

Mr. Klug is a licensed attorney before the Washington State and Appellate Courts, the United States District Court and the Puyallup Tribal Court. He is also a member of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers Association, the Seattle Casualty Adjusters Association, the Washington State Bar Association and the Tacoma Claim Adjusters Association. He holds a J.D., an M.B.A. in accounting and finance and a Bachelor of Arts in political science – all from the University of Washington in Seattle.
