Tim Butterfield

Tim Butterfield is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ Scottsdale office. His practice focuses on civil litigation, general liability, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, construction defect, and bad faith litigation.

Mr. Butterfield brings nearly a decade of hands-on litigation experience representing design professionals, contractors, commercial property owners, HOAs, and businesses of all sizes in a wide range of civil and commercial disputes in state and federal court and arbitration proceedings. Mr. Butterfield handles matters at every stage of the process—from early investigation and discovery to motion practice, trial, and appeal.

Mr. Butterfield obtained his J.D. from the University of Arizona in 2016, where he served on the Arizona Journal of Environmental Law & Policy and graduated with distinction. He obtained his B.A. from the University of Montana in 2013 in Economics and Political Science.

Outside the office, Mr. Butterfield enjoys playing board games with his wife, son, and cats. He also dabbles in strategy games and fiction writing.
