Richard Verlander
Richard Verlander is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ Las Vegas office. Mr. Verlander’s practice focuses on insurance defense litigation, including professional negligence, premises liability, and construction defect claims.
Prior to joining Tyson & Mendes, Mr. Verlander operated a solo practice in New Orleans, Louisiana where he focused on estate planning and administration, real estate, and transactional work. Before starting his own practice in New Orleans, Mr. Verlander worked in both Reno and Las Vegas, where he obtained substantial experience defending clients in both state and federal courts, often obtaining relief for his clients via summary judgment. Mr. Verlander also has appellate experience and has represented clients before the Nevada Supreme Court.
Mr. Verlander obtained his J.D. in 2012 from the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law, where he served on the Trial Advocacy Board. He obtained his B.A. in the humanities from San Jose State University in 2009. Mr. Verlander is licensed in Louisiana, Nevada, and Texas.
In his free time, Mr. Verlander enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
