Cathleen Kelly Rebar
Cathleen Kelly Rebar is Tyson & Mendes’ Northeast Regional Managing Partner. She defends clients in claims pertaining to professional liability and errors and omissions, products liability, toxic tort, premise liability, security, health care, social services and employment practice.
Ms. Kelly Rebar has been advising and counseling clients in complex litigation matters for over two decades. She has experience in medical malpractice, errors and omissions, maritime law, products liability, and premises liability. Throughout her career, she has obtained favorable verdicts and outcomes for clients, including defense verdicts, dismissals, summary judgment, and outcomes significantly below plaintiff demands. In a case with facts involving the death of four children and a demand over $30 million, Ms. Kelly Rebar obtained a settlement for just $40,000; in a case with a $12 million dollar demand, she obtained a verdict of just $120,000, and plaintiff was found to have contributory fault.
In addition to her extensive litigation history on the civil side, Ms. Kelly Rebar previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania. She later joined the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General as a Deputy Attorney General for the Eastern Region of Pennsylvania, where she prosecuted neglect in the long-term care sectors and healthcare fraud.
Ms. Kelly Rebar was a previous shareholder and partner in two well-respected litigation firms before founding a firm in 2012. She is also an elected Magisterial District Judge in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where she currently serves portions of the western population of Montgomery County. In 2023, she was selected as one of America’s Top 50 Lawyers and was recognized by Super Lawyers® annually from 2014-2026. Ms. Kelly Rebar is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Ohio. She is also admitted to practice before federal courts in certain districts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida, along with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Kelly Rebar obtained her J.D. in 1998 from Villanova University School of Law. She obtained her B.A. from Long Island University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
