Alexis T. Foster
Alexis T. Foster is Senior Counsel at Tyson & Mendes’ Seattle office, where her practice focuses on complex insurance defense and civil litigation. She brings nearly two decades of experience in trial work, litigation management, and municipal law. Her background includes defending clients in high-exposure personal injury matters, managing multi-million-dollar claims, and advising public and private entities on risk management, regulatory compliance, and contractual matters. She is known for her strategic litigation planning, collaborative client service, and strong leadership within legal teams.
Ms. Foster has achieved significant results for her clients throughout her career. As Field Counsel for Liberty Mutual, she managed over 100 complex litigation matters from inception through trial, obtaining favorable resolutions through dispositive motions, mediations, and strategic settlements. During her tenure as City Prosecutor and Risk Manager for the City of Poulsbo, she reduced claims against the City by over 75% through proactive liability management and implemented a criminal case management system that improved efficiency by 95%. At the Kitsap County Prosecutor’s Office, she successfully tried cases ranging from misdemeanors to Class A felonies, advised on high-stakes municipal litigation, and represented law enforcement agencies in civil asset forfeitures, securing favorable outcomes.
Ms. Foster earned her J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law, where she also studied international and First Nations law as an exchange student at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law, in British Columbia. She holds a B.A. in American Studies, with a minor in Ethnic Studies and a Writing Certificate, from Arizona State University West. She is admitted to practice in Washington State and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. Ms. Foster has also served as faculty for the Washington State Bar Association Trial Advocacy Program and is an active leader in civic organizations, including serving as President of the YWCA of Kitsap County Board of Directors.
Outside of work, Ms. Foster enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and good food, and supporting her daughter’s competitive dance journey. She is passionate about community service, leadership development, and mentoring young professionals, reflecting her commitment to equity, inclusion, and empowerment both inside and outside the courtroom.
