Sarah Mitchell
Sarah Mitchell is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ Orange County office.
Ms. Mitchell began her career as a litigator and has practiced for three different firms with a focus on insurance defense. She has also served as General Counsel for three companies in the food and beverage sector and has provided external corporate counsel services to a number of other company clients. Ms. Mitchell successfully shepherded three of her corporate clients through 100% stock sale M&A transactions. One of those transactions was a sale of over $100 million; she was the only in-house attorney handling the matter and managed a team of law firms. For the remaining two transactions, Ms. Mitchell was the sole attorney navigating the sale. While serving as in-house counsel for a wine importer, Ms. Mitchell forged a relationship with an Italian spirits producer for exclusive U.S. distribution and ushered her client into a phase of expansion outside of California into nine new jurisdictions. On the litigation front, Ms. Mitchell was able to prevail on a motion for summary judgment with respect to a multiple-plaintiff sexual harassment case pertaining to a religious organization. She is a member of the California State Bar, and is also authorized to appear before the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
Ms. Mitchell obtained her J.D. from Chapman University, Fowler School of Law in 2008 and her B.A. from Bucknell University in 2004.
Ms. Mitchell has practiced yoga for the past twenty years and has been an Ashtanga instructor since 2013. She is also an avid Argentine tango dancer. Ms. Mitchell and her boyfriend enjoy life together in Pasadena with their two dogs.
