Kaitlin Joyce

Kaitlin Joyce is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ Ft. Lauderdale office. She specializes in professional liability and general negligence matters.

With extensive litigation experience, Ms. Joyce is renowned for her advocacy across various practice areas. Her career began at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, where she zealously represented indigent clients charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses.  Prior to joining Tyson & Mendes Ms. Joyce worked in the Miami area, gaining experience in juvenile dependency and termination of parental rights, as well as litigation and insurance defense. Throughout her career, Ms. Joyce has achieved significant victories for her clients. She has first-chaired several trials at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, demonstrating her prowess in courtroom advocacy. Her strategic motion practice has led to numerous dismissals prior to the filing of charges and trial through meticulous research and investigation. She has also been instrumental in reversing evidentiary issues on appeal, demonstrating her adeptness in preserving critical legal arguments. Ms. Joyce’s comprehensive case evaluations and meticulous preparation have consistently driven cases toward favorable outcomes, underscoring her commitment to client success.

Ms. Joyce obtained her J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2016. During her time in law school, she was recognized with several awards, including the CALI Book Award in Trial Advocacy Practice, and excelled in mock trial and moot court competitions, earning accolades such as the Best Team Award and the Ted Klein Memorial Scholarship for top advocacy. Ms. Joyce obtained her B.A. in Art History from Florida International University in April.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Ms. Joyce enjoys spending quality time with her family, boating, and exploring new culinary experiences. Her passion for travel and fluency in Spanish enrich both her personal and professional life, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of clients and cultures.
