Corey Lopez
Corey Lopez is an Associate in Tyson & Mendes’ San Francisco Bay Area office, specializing in construction defect and personal injury litigation. With a background in general construction and plumbing, his hands-on experience as a contractor allows him to understand construction defect issues quickly and with practical insight.
Mr. Lopez has legal experience on both the plaintiff and defense sides of personal injury litigation, as well as plaintiff’s workers’ compensation matters. Notably, he successfully appealed dozens of denials of high-cost medical surgeries on behalf of workers’ compensation clients.
He obtained his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Competition Team and Advanced Moot Court, later serving as Development Director on the Moot Court Board. He also authored a published article for the Intellectual Property Journal and held a leadership role with the Latinx Law Students Association. His training includes advanced trial advocacy and civil trial practice programs. Mr. Lopez obtained his B.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University, graduating magna cum laude.
Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Lopez enjoys watching basketball, football, and baseball. He also spends time taking photographs of landscapes and animals. On weekends, he can often be found on the golf course.
