Strategies to Combat Plaintiff’s Latest Lien Tactics

Plaintiff attorneys will not stop fighting our $10 Billion win for the insurance industry in Howell v. Hamilton Meats!

Date & Time: Thursday, December 9 – 11:00AM-12:00PM PST
Speakers: Kristi Blackwell & Dan Fallon

A recent decision out of the California Court of Appeals is changing the landscape once again for the defense industry.  In Qaadir v. Figueroa, the appellate court held unpaid medical bills, including for medical treatments provided on a lien basis, are admissible to prove the reasonable value of plaintiff’s past medical damages at trial.  This ruling further erodes the landmark Howell v. Hamilton Meats decision from 2011 and gives plaintiffs’ attorneys even more authority to inflate their client’s medical damages.  This webinar is a must for defense attorneys and insurance professionals.  We will pull back the curtain on the history of the Howell decision.  Attendees will learn how the new Qaadir case and other decisions impact Howell’s scope and how defense attorneys and insurance companies should respond to limit economic damages in their cases.
