Thomas P. Fay

Thomas P. Fay is an Associate in Tyson & Mendes’ Los Angeles office, where he is a member of a multi-attorney team defending a wide range of civil matters. His practice focuses on personal injury and wrongful death defense, as well as representing private and public entities in cases involving sexual abuse and harassment, including child abuse and sexual assault, workplace discrimination and retaliation, product liability, and motor vehicle accidents.

Mr. Fay has secured numerous favorable outcomes for his clients across California, including successful motions for summary judgment, motions for judgment on the pleadings, and motions to dismiss. Notably, after obtaining summary adjudication for a client in San Bernardino, he negotiated a $200,000 settlement in mediation following an initial $5 million demand. He has resolved multiple personal injury claims for nuisance value and recently prevailed on a motion to dismiss a Fourth Amendment civil rights case in the Ninth Circuit, sparing a Bay Area client the burden of appeal. He is a proud member of the California Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central and Northern Districts of California, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Fay obtained his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2022, where he served as a research assistant studying Supreme Court decision-making and appellate trends. He holds a B.A. in music performance, with minors in philosophy and statistics, from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Outside of the office, Mr. Fay is beginning to learn to play violin, and lifelong musician. He enjoys traveling with his partner, working on BMW track cars, studying Latin, and exploring new cuisines.
