Stephen Budica is an Associate at Tyson & Mendes’ Orange County and Northern California offices. His practice focuses on insurance defense, general liability, personal injury, premises liability, and wrongful death litigation. He also has experience defending hospitals and physicians against medical malpractice cases, as well as business owners against claims for violations of the ADA.
As a former Marine, Mr. Budica employs his fighting spirit to the defense of his clients, and his goal is to get cases dismissed. He has been successful in getting cases dismissed without the need to go to trial, including by way of summary judgment, terminating sanctions, and through convincing plaintiffs’ attorneys their cases lack merit. And while his main goal is to get cases resolved without the need to go to trial, Mr. Budica’s favorite part of the job is conducting trial. He enjoys being in the courtroom, and he has achieved multiple defense verdicts on behalf of a large retail corporation.
After serving as a Crew Chief on CH-53E helicopters in the Marine Corps, Mr. Budica received his B.S. degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2008. He then obtained his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2014 with a focus on civil litigation.
In his free time, Stephen enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys bodysurfing, watching mixed martial arts, and long-distance running.
