Salayha K. Ghoury is an Associate in Tyson & Mendes’ Northern California office. Her practice focuses on general liability, construction litigation, premises liability, and personal injury matters.
Ms. Ghoury has experience representing both individuals and businesses in California state courts. Prior to joining Tyson & Mendes, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Northern District of California. While in chambers, Ms. Ghoury refined her skills for successful, succinct argument, which she continues to employ in her practice. Immediately following law school, Ms. Ghoury was honored with the prestigious Judge Lee D. Baxter Graduate Fellow in Litigation where she taught Evidence and Trial Advocacy. In this capacity, she also coached mock trial and moot court competition teams to victories. She has used these skills to vigorously advocate for her clients resulting in effective mediations and numerous successful motions.
Ms. Ghoury received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of California, Davis and earned her J.D. from Golden Gate University, School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in California and is a member of the National Association of Women Lawyers. She also volunteers her time at the Juvenile Justice Center with the young women detained and the American Constitution Society teaching Constitution Law to students from fourth grade and up.
Outside of the office, Ms. Ghoury loves watching and playing basketball, along with participating in competitive sports. She sits on the board of an organization she co-founded with her brother, Achieving Character Through Sports (A.C.T.S) which uses sports as a means for youth to grow both on and off the field.
