Robert has been a practicing attorney for the past 16 years and is now Senior Counsel at Tyson & Mendes’ Orange County office. His practice focuses on business and contract disputes, automobile accidents, wrongful termination, and premises liability.
Before joining Tyson & Mendes, he spent several years as in-house counsel, delivering pragmatic and insightful litigation strategy to various litigation matters and employment counseling, setting up human resources processes for his corporate-clients, and defending his clients in various litigation matters. He was also responsible for a wide variety of business agreements and corporate documents. In his past roles as a litigation associate, he defended clients in various civil and criminal matters. Recently, Rob defended a property owner in trial and obtained a defense verdict against plaintiffs in a habitability lawsuit in Los Angeles County. As corporate counsel, he partnered with his clients to make sure their requirements made legal sense and provided pragmatic business solutions, ensuring his clients recognized the value proposition for the legal work undertaken. As an example, Rob served as Corporate Counsel and Manager of the Legal and HR Services Departments at MMC-HR, LLC, regularly consulting with the company’s clients on human resource best practices, as well as managing the firm’s general legal issues. Rob has also served as general counsel for several firms, including a privately held manufacturing company which generated approximately $100 million in yearly revenue and employed approximately 350 individuals nationwide. Rob understands his clients and their businesses, and offers invaluable legal advice which reflects the goals of each client’s ventures.
A native of Chicago, Rob has resided in California for more than 25 years. He obtained his law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Law & Society from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Rob is currently admitted to the bar in the State of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court, Central District of California.
Rob is married and enjoys spending his down time cooking with his children and family, watching movies, and reading books.
