Patricia Conway is a Partner at Tyson & Mendes’ Northern California office and leads a multi-attorney litigation team. Ms. Conway has practiced civil litigation in the Bay Area since 1996, advancing from associate to partner in 2001. Ms. Conway has represented manufacturer and contractor defendants in construction, toxic tort, environmental, and premises liability actions. She has served as “outside general counsel” to contractor clients assisting them with a variety of issues. She currently serves as National Coordinating Counsel for a corporate client overseeing their nationwide asbestos litigation.
Ms. Conway’s extensive litigation experience includes high rates of dismissals for her clients and obtaining nominal settlement values. She has taken over cases to achieve favorable outcomes, saving her clients millions of dollars in settlements and preserving their assets. In addition to supervising local counsel in other jurisdictions, clients have called upon Ms. Conway to troubleshoot difficult situations and provide them guidance to avoid litigation.
Ms. Conway received a B.A. in Philosophy in 1993 from Santa Clara University, with a minor in French and in International Studies. Ms. Conway earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco in 1996, where she received an American Jurisprudence Award in Real Property. After graduating from law school, Ms. Conway clerked for Justices James Perley and Daniel Hanlon of California’s First District Court of Appeal. Ms. Conway is an active alumna and has mentored international LLM students studying at USF.
Ms. Conway was named a “Rising Star” in Northern California Super Lawyer Magazine’s 2009 and 2010 publications. Ms. Conway is admitted to practice in all California state courts and before various federal courts. Ms. Conway was an active member of the San Francisco Bar Association’s Volunteer Legal Services Program and her pro bono work has included representing family day care providers. Ms. Conway also volunteered for the Marin County Bar Association Lawyers in the Library program. Ms. Conway is a former member of the Edward J. McFetridge Inn of Court, the Bar Association of San Francisco, and has served as a Director on the Board of the Marin County Bar Association. She also holds a real estate brokers license. Ms. Conway is a first generation American and is conversationally proficient in Czech, Slovak, French and German.
In her free time, Ms. Conway enjoys spending time with her two sons and husband and playing competitive tennis. She devotes a great deal of time helping to manage her sons’ high school football program. She supports the homeless community in her county through volunteer efforts with the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
