Lloyd D. Cowell is an Associate in Tyson & Mendes’ San Francisco office. His practice focuses primarily on general liability, commercial litigation, and taxation matters. Mr. Cowell has spent his career defending individuals and businesses in Ohio and California state and federal district courts.
Mr. Cowell has extensive trial experience and has successfully resolved many cases involving complex business, creditor’s rights, personal injury, toxic tort, intellectual property, and criminal matters. He has obtained favorable results for his clients both at trial and during pretrial litigation by the aggressive use of pretrial discovery and motions practice. He wrote the winning brief in an Ohio appellate case concerning interstate enforcement of a child support order in a family law matter.
Mr. Cowell earned his LL.M. in taxation law from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California, in 2016. He earned his J.D. in 1990 from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, where he served as Notes Editor for the Capital University Law Review. Mr. Cowell is licensed to practice law in Ohio and California.
In his free time, Mr. Cowell enjoys reading, cycling, hiking, golf, and spending time with his family.
