Berta Blen

Berta Blen is Senior Counsel in Tyson & Mendes’ San Diego office. Her practice focuses primarily on litigation involving employment practices, general liability and personal injury.

Ms. Blen is an experienced litigator who is skilled in both written and oral advocacy. Recently, Ms. Blen prevailed in a twenty-seven day trial involving employment and educational law issues. Ms. Blen has saved her clients significant fees and costs as well as years of litigation by identifying critical pieces of evidence overlooked by prior counsel. Ms. Blen has also authored and argued a number of appellate briefs.

Ms. Blen received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark, where she served as Notes and Comments Editor of the Rutgers Newark Law Review. Ms. Blen’s note, “To Hear or Not to Hear: A Legal Analysis of Subliminal Technology in the Arts,” was published in 1992. Ms. Blen was also awarded first prize in the Rutgers Nathan Burkan Memorial Copyright Competition and was chosen by the faculty to be a legal research and writing instructor. Ms. Blen received her B.A. from the University of Southern California.

Outside of the office, Ms. Blen enjoys making jewelry, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
