Background Information

Elizabeth Terrill is a graduate of Shepherd University in West Virginia (B.A., magna cum laude, 2000) and California Western School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2003).  At California Western, she served as Executive Editor of the California Western International Law Journal.  She brings over six years of practical experience in insurance defense litigation.  Ms. Terrill specializes in the defense of general liability, construction defect and construction injury claims.

 

Attorney Accomplishments

Some of Ms. Terrill’s accomplishments include the following:

  • Effective and efficient litigation defense attorney with approximately seven years of experience, including representation of clients in complex construction defect, strict products liability and other general litigation.
     

  • Drafted multiple successful motions in limine which resulted in the immediate settlement of a construction defect matter (commercial construction) comprised of only 7 defendants.
     

  • Routinely negotiates extremely favorable settlements on behalf of clients where settlement is in the client’s best interest
     

  • Drafted all relevant pre-trial motions and trial brief on behalf of SDG&E for a real property dispute (trespass due to forfeiture of an easement), resulting in a defense verdict
     

  • Drafted the mediation brief in an complex breach of contract action brought on behalf of SDG&E, resulting in the favorable settlement of a $13 million dollar lawsuit
